Houston Animal Hospital New Patient Center
Houston Animal Hospital offers superior care and excellent service for your pet. When you are looking for a new veterinary care clinic, it’s important to find a team of experts you can rely on. We have assembled an expert team of professionals that provide the best care while treating you and your pet like family.
What to Bring To Our Houston Veterinarian
Upon your first visit, it’s important to bring in any medical history you have of your pet. Make note of any behavior issues you would like to address and any other concerns you have. The doctors and staff here at the Houston Animal Clinic will work with whatever information you provide, including current examination results to provide comprehensive care.
What to Expect
During your first visit, our staff will greet you in the waiting room and ask you to fill out the required forms. To save time, it’s possible to download the forms online and bring them with you when you come. You may also fax your information in so that we have you processed and ready for your pet’s examination when you arrive. If your pet is having surgery, be sure to download the surgical information packet and go over it before you arrive.
Other things to bring with you include a fresh stool sample that allows the vets to check for parasites. Be sure to get the name of the food you are feeding your pet, along with the times and the amounts. Our veterinarians can provide advice about your current feeding schedule and offer recommendations.
The First Exam
Most first exams include weighing your pet, examining the condition of the eyes, skin, coal, heart, lungs, gums and overall health. During this time, we will make recommendations for vaccines and a parasite prevention regime. We can discuss spaying and neutering and microchipping, if this has not yet been done.
